Saint George spring fling IMAC
Hi Everybody, I will probably be going to start competing in IMAC this year since I got a new H9 33% Cap 232
I will start this year off by probably going to the Saint George spring fling in Utah. I was wondering if anybody here was planning on attending this event? I'm also looking for some advice wether to fly basic or sportsman.
Thanks, Matt

Hi Matt. I'm in Parker. I'm thinking of going to that contest also. I've just finished my second Hurley35% Extra. Send me your # and we can get together sometime. Do you know Dr. Bob? I know he has 50 acres in Franktown for his personal flying field. Jim

Hi BME,
I should be going to that contest this year, I live here in Utah.
What kind of advice do you need about Basic/Sportsman?
I am not extremely knowledgeable about everything as I first started in IMAC late last year, but I might be able to give my 2 cents.
Do you know Bill Pearse?
He was from Colorado also and was at the IMAC competition in Ogden, UT last year.
There are also two other contests this year in Utah, one in Salt Lake in June, and another one at Ogden in August.

The dates for this event and all particulars should be available soon.
Fly whatever class fits you -
I will be flying an ARF this year
That's a first for me.

The biggest difference between basic and sportsman is that the sportsman class will fly an unknown sequence. Download a few old sportsman sequences from previous years or some unknown sequences from other contests. If you can fly those pretty well (no zeroes) with someone calling for you then you are probably ready for sportsman. If you fly the sportsman known sequence OK but struggle with an unknown then I recommend you stick with basic for now.
Here is a good place to get some unknowns to practice.

Keep in mind that first contest jitters will may knock your scores down a point or two from what you get when your knees are not knocking. Don't let that discourage you.
