Probably a dumb question, but since I'm just getting back into the sport I'm not privy to all the new acronyms. In fact I don't know where the term 3D came from. How is IMAC different than pattern and 3D?

Internation Miniature Aerobatic Club. www.mini-iac.com IMAC replicated the full scale aerobatic airplanes A.K.A. Scale Aerobatics. Pattern is similar to IMAC in that they both fly set sequences but both are quite different in the way they are judged and the way the sequences are setup. 3D doesn't technically have anything to do with IMAC or Pattern, it's basically aerobatics in the stall condition to say the least.

Thanks a lot, that clears it up. So in IMAC is the power to weight ratio close to full scale? That is THE one thing that makes aerobatics look scale to me.
