Special Announcement! 12/08/04
The dates for the 2005 Nats have changed:
July 5th - July 8th, 2005
ALL FIELD AND CLASS LIMITS HAVE BEEN LIFTED!!!!!
Interest in the 2005 Scale Aerobatic National championship has exceeded all expectations. Within four days of the release of the official entry form, the event had far exceeded the field limit. The set field limit and class size restrictions were dictated by the available resources at the AMA site. In late 2003, the best available data was used to project the demand for the 2004/2005 event and the schedule and resources set accordingly. No one could have predicted the incredible surge in IMAC growth over the last 12 months or the flood of entries for the 2005 Nats.
The AMA, especially the new Nats Director Lonnie Estep, have gone above and beyond to rearrange, reschedule, and free additional facilities to accommodate the scale aerobatic pilots wishing to compete. This may be the largest AMA Scale Aerobatic event in history....a true National Championship!
We are very pleased to announce that all field and class limits have been lifted from this event. We recognize that this change in schedule may create conflicts for some pilots that have already registered. Please contact the AMA if this is the case. With almost seven months advance notice, we believe that most pilots will be able to shift their schedule.
Additionally, this new schedule will permit open practice days prior to the start of the event. The Pilots Meeting will be held on Monday July 4th at 6:30 PM...attendance is required to compete.
We are very proud of everyone involved, especially you, the pilots. You have shown by your overwhelming response that scale aerobatics, as a sport, is moving in the right direction.
If you have not yet registered, go ahead and take this opportunity to submit your application...
See you in Muncie!
Roy Barrow,
2005 Nats Team Director
