If your flying horizontal and your next manuver is a negitive snap do you roll to the inverted position and then put the sticks in the inverted snap position or do you start the inverted snap from upright level flight?

There wouldnt be a 1/2 roll prior to the snap.
It would be from upright.

Why can't you do a negative snap from upright?

Bobby: You should not roll the plane to inverted and then snap with negative stick commands. There will be point deductions for "rolling" into the snap. The plane should break into the snap at the same time as the wings leave level flight. i.e. Down elevator at the same time as wings break level flight. Opp. rudder also. The plane will displace some, but not finish with a nose down exit (if set up correctly). Trust it, and the nose will come back to level on the exit. Indeed there would be. It is called a ZERO!!!!!! That wold be the equivalent of adding a figure (1/2 roll).

There is no such criteria in the IMAC rules. The only two relevant criteria are that the nose depart the line of flight in the correct direction (for a negative snap that is towards the wheels), and that the plane autorotate. There are no other criteria except stopping the snap after the proper number of degrees of rotation.

I want to tell you how much I enjoyed the IMAC clinic. It was a first class event. Guys for those of you wishing to get into IMAC it's really will get you to the point of being comfortable with your first event.
