Default Comp ARF 3M Extra Question

Hi Guys

Just wondering if anybody has any pics of how to install tuned mufflers/pipes in these planes?? Any pics or info would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Darcy Wingo is a Composite-ARF team pilot for Bob Shapiro. He built my 3.0m Extra. Here's the build thread with a lot of good information and pictures.

He's real good about answering questions.

Good luck!!

Hi There,

You can see photos of KS 1090full length tuned pipes installed in Ralph Lang's 3.0 Extra at andersonaero.com Follow the links at the website..

This setup produces BOO-COO horepower and is quiter than canisters in the air....

Check it out ..... Later, Dave

Here are some, MTW crossover headers and KS cans. Works great. Going to check out the full length pipes though, that sounds cool LOL.

RickP: Have you ever had the KS system in a plane with out the cross over headers? Can you tell me if the cross over has a noticable improvement in the 1/4 throttle range? I'm currently running straight heades to KS Cans. Headers are 12.25 in. long. How long are those? Thanks,

Don,
I don't believe that the cross over headers are good for any power increase. The only benifit is that you can get larger cans in a Comp ARF 3.0 then you could normally. And the larger cans should be good for more power HTH.
