Hello. I want to start out flying IMAC so I would like to build a plane this winter bigger than .60 size and was thinking about the 24% CA Extra with the Saito 150 I already have. Plane calls for 1.20 - 1.40 4stroke.

What do you think?? would this engine give it enough power for unlimited or close to unlimited vertical?

That depends on how heavy you make the plane and how much nitro your fuel has in addition to your definition of 'close to unlimited verticle'. In other words, that engine will do a fine job if you build light, otherwise get a bigger engine.

The CA 24% is probily the best flying Extra you can get in that size. I have a 38% version and some time on the 34% as well. Both of those fly very well so I have high expectations for the 24%. The saito will have enough power if you keep the airplane at 12# or less. Be very selective about what hardware you put on it to keep the weight down. A single 2100 mah Nickel metal battery will do the job. Sullivan steel control horns, don't go oveboard with the hinges. That 150 likes the cool power 30% nitro 30% oil fuel and use an OS F plug. Prop would be 16X8 Boly or Mej. Good luck, hope the pics will inspire you

Keep it light and vertical will be unlimited (YS140s)

-No servos in the tail
-light tailwheel
-lightening holes in the rudder saved me 2oz. in the tail....that's about 8oz. of nose weight...

Mine came out at 9lbs. 8oz.
