Hi, There has already been one - last month. That's not to say there won't be another, but none are scheduled that I'm aware of. Currently most planning revolves around the judging seminar that will take place Jan 28 - 29 at the Ocala, FL Hilton. The seminar, though not focussing solely on basic, is a great way to learn the fundamentals of what constitutes a solid scoring flight. This seminar will also be broken into two groups - intro / basic judging criteria and skills, and advanced judging skills. Hopefully this format will facillitate a more focused learning experience for a wider range of pilots / judges. If you have never been to a judging school, or, even if your have, I would encourage you to attend. There is a lot to be gained, as a pilot and judge, and there will be some very knowledgable instructors. Check to IMAC site for registration details, they should be posted soon in the SE region schedule.

Hello,
I'm organizing IMAC activities in Alabama and plan to hold an IMAC Aerobatic Clinic in early April. We've conducted two such clinics so far in the past couple of years, one in Montgomery and another in Prattville, to introduce and prepare pilots for IMAC. If you're interested in coming over, keep as eye on the Southeast Contest Schedule for listings of the clinics as well as the contests in our area.
You'll have a good time and hopefully join us.

IMAC Assistant Regional Director for Alabama

Hi Bobby,
Unfortunately, no. The Judging Seminars are a pretty complex presentation and last year they were only in Ocala and NC (central to most of the SE IMAC members). Just so you know, they emphasize judging, not flying in these, but they will help you to know how to improve your scores.
If you can't make it to Ocala, we try to cover most of the judging points of the basic sequence in our Clinics here.
And, Stan Stockman plan to have an "advanced" basic / sportsman bootcamp during the season that will cover the finer points as well.

Hey Bobby, I'll take you off the side this Saturday and fly the routine so that you can judge all others by.
PS
Somebody will have to keep Chris busy during this judging seminar.

Those of you who attend, please post your impressions of the weekend here.
You can also send me a PM if you would like.
I want to put this together on the IMAC website to show people's impressions of the clinic

Oops, I forgot to get back on this forum thread and post an update. A lot late but here goes:
The Alabama IMAC Clinic is this Saturday, April 1st, in Prattville / Autaugaville at the Fountain City Flyers Field. The members of the club have done a superb job of preparing the field for our clinic and contest. You will enjoy the wide open spaces and great new pilot station layouts. Come join us for this year's Precision Aerobatic Clinic in Alabama.
Sign-up starts at 8:00am.

The clinic turned out great. Many thanks to Chris, Gene and Curtis for taking their time to put on the clinic. For those of us just getting into IMAC, clinics like these are very beneficial. Now if we can just get a few more tournaments in our area...
