The Radisson Roberts is a great old hotel downtown. I have stayed there a couple of times. If you tell them you are there for an AMA event, you will get a great discount. I think I paid about $65 per night last summer.
It will be a great weekend. Kurt and Tom do a super job with the classroom stuff. Take the opportunity if you can to get there on Friday and fly. Ask for help! There will be lots of people there with serious skills who will be more than happy to help you out.

Here are the details.....
The IMAC North Central Judging and Flying Seminar will be held in Muncie at the AMA International Modeling Center on April 29-30, 2006. The course is intended for anyone currently flying or judging IMAC or anyone interested in getting involved in IMAC. Powerpoint presentations, simulator recordings and stick plane instruction will be given on Saturday at the AMA Headquarters Conference Room. We will cover the basics of reading Aresti through the judging criteria of complex compound maneuvers. The IMAC Flying and Judging Guide will be covered in depth. We will spend Sunday at the flying field (AMA Center Stage flying site) covering the following topics:
1)Demonstration of correct and incorrect maneuvers.
2)Practice judging including maneuvers, basic sequences, and stepping up to more complex sequences.
3)Flying and judging unknown sequences.
The course will be taught by the IMAC NC Regional Judging Instructors: Tom Wheeler and Kurt Koelling. Demo pilots will fly maneuvers on Sunday.
The registration fee is $10 for IMAC members and $30 for non-IMAC members (this includes a 1 year IMAC membership). You will be provided with printed materials (presentation information) and box lunches on Saturday. The deadline for registration is April 21, 2006, and I must have received your check or money order by that date. Please make it payable to "Kurt Koelling". My mailing address is:

You will also be able to sign up for the seminar at the IMAC booth during the Toledo Show. More detailed information (including a flyer with hotel info) for the seminar is available on the IMAC website - North Central Contest Schedule. Our number one complaint at contests is usually related to judging. The only way to improve our judging (and flying) is to know all of the criteria for properly judging each figure. We currently have 12 attendees signed up from Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Ontario. Looking forward to seeing many of you at the judging seminar!

Just booked my room at the Holiday Inn express!
"Wow...that was the most amazing freestyle routine ever flown..... been flying long?"
"No...but I DID stay at a Holiday Inn express last night!"

Anyone have a GOOD map or directions to the site....
Never been and the maps on the AMA web page aren't too good.....
