Default Intermediate sequence question

In Figure 7, the goldfish, do the 2 45 degree lines need to be the same length? I figure that it presents better if the snap and the 4 point intersect each other but didn't know if that is a judging criteria.

no, the lines do not have to be of equal lengths....the only time they do is when the length of the line is critical to the geometry of the figure..such a square loop, diamond loop, etc.

Thank you for the clarification. I think what was throwing me a little is that a cuban 8 has to have the center elements intersecting but now that makes more sense because the length of the line is needed to be the same for the geometry of the figure.
