Help, need pics!!! - but not of her bottom
I plan to paint my new 2m Extra 260 (when I buy it..) in the colours of Patty Wagstaff's Extra 260 (white with blue and red trim) But I cannot for the life of me find any pics of the underside of her plane... Can anyone help??
I have seen a pic of Dave Von Linsowe with his original 1992 TOC 35% Extra 260, does anyone know where I can find more pics of this plane??
I know the Wagstaff extra is on Microsoft Flight Sim 98, but I really can't be bothered installing it, loading the extra, flying inverted with an external view just to see what Patty Wagstaff's bottom looks like - As tempting as it sounds!!
I really need these pics as I have heaps of 2K Blue and White paint that I paid a fortune for and I need to use it before the hardener goes off - shelf life of 3 months or so I was told..
Any help much appreciated, but I hope not to get any links to dodgey celebrity sites...
Many thanks

have you tried www.pattywagstaff.com/
under specs it shows the current scheme and I assume since the top of the wing is the same design as the current 300, the only difference would be the color reversal

The basic layout was the same as the 300S in the 90's. The difference was that underneath, the large red area read APOLLO on one wing and LORANS on the other in white instead of BF Goodrich (the world champion scheme). I had the 260 done in that scheme but I never scanned in the bottom photos.

It was what made her unique. It added a lot to her character and image.
But I digress. Sorry for hijacking your thread, Scythe. I'll have to behave next time.

hey guys, thanks for the... well, some of it was usefull? - information...
I still don't really have an answer tho, I know there are a lot of people who have painted their 260 models in the wagstaff layout - where did these guys get the information?
not a worry, I am sure I will get an answer from someone.
Thanks

I must have missunderstood the question I guess, I thought you wanted a pic of the underside of her current extra 300. . . which is provided above. The only thing she did additionally to the above rendering is add white "goodrich" in the blue area.

Look at the picture of the current airplane's bottom. Reverse the blue and the red. That's all there is to it. You will be very accurate.
When I built mine, Ohio R/C instructions included the layout for the APOLLO LORANS scheme including a beautful multitoned horse for the tail.

I got a chance to get inside the railing at the Smithsonian with a camera so I could take some closeups of the 260. Take the current color scheme and swap the blue and red and it's the same scheme, or merely use teh scheme Patty had on her first 300s.
BTW. .the 260 in the Smithsonian uses Patty's last scheme of logos and sponsors before she switched to the 300. There is no apollo/lorans on the bottom, but BF Goodrich Aerospace, just like on her first 300s. The Apollo/Lorans was the layout before the current one as seen in the Smithsonian.
I have some nice closeups of the plane, but they are not scanned. I made two sets of prints, though. If you wnt a set, you can buy them for what they cost me.

I forgot to mention. . Dennis Kirby, of Kirby's Kustom Graphics, made a graphics package for me following the photos I have on hand. You might want to contact him if you are interested in THOSE graphics rather than the Apollo/Lorans scheme. They are sized for a 38% plane, but I'm sure he can alter the dimensions to fit.
