Good Foamy for Sequence Practice?
What's a good back yard foamy for practicing IMAC sequences? Not wanting the typical 3D type foamy. Prefer something very neutral without a lot of roll coupling, etc.

Lots of good info and ideas.

I have one of the Airfoilz yaks with the hacker 2020. Since it has an actual airfoil, It likes to fly straight and on the wing. Just keep the cg more forward than you would for 3d. www.airfoilz.com

RE: Good Foamy for Sequence Practice?
Lots of possibilities out there, but this is the one I chose;
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=EFL2125
It's the little E-flite Quique Yak 54 and it's a bit heavier than your usual foamy with a built up stiffer fuselage, but it fly's much more like a regular model than other foamies I've tried. I did find that the recommended Park 400 Outrunner isn't good enough for our alititude here at 4500' ASL. But with a Himax 2812-1080 Outrunner and a ThunderPower 1320MAh Li-Poly, this thing is a hoot to fly and will do knife edge loops quite easily, or at least I've seen my IMAC mentor fly them with it...
I'm just an IMAC newby so others may have a better solution, but so far I really like this thing and it does quite well out back in my alfalfa field!

Dean:
Take a look at the Extreme Flight RC extra and I think the have a small yak now. Not foamys but small, electric and fly very well.

I have an airfoilz yak, and while I haven't flown every foamy this is the only one I've flown that has the same "feel" as a larger model. I vote airfoilz

The new balsa /builtup stuf in the same sizes as foamies are really good - I have lots of foam stuff and my 400 square inch 16 ounce scaled up Super Star really flies well -on a Hacker 20/20 -
I just got a new 300 by Seagull Models and a 480 motor for it (and a 2,4 gig radio) so I will be flogging that around to see how it all works . If I can stagger through the new Unlimited IMAC Sequence with it - I will be really pleased.

I agree airfoilz or the Copperhead aviation Extra stiffy's are about equal, but the copperhead builds much faster. Both have airfoiled wing.
Best use of these planes,IMO, is flying wind corrected. Fly a foamy in the wind, straight, makes flying a pattern or IMAC plane much easier. Kinda like "swinging 2 bats" in baseball.
