I think another venue may be on the horizon to replace this contest.
I would expect more information at the first of the year.

Does anyone know why Andy stopped CDing the Challenge?

I don't know why or even if he stopped, but the turnout seamed low last year as compared to the previous years. Rumor had it that all the big names were doing an E TOC thing.

I've been to three of them, and this last one was sad. Calling it the JR Challenge was a misnomer, since it appeared that they pulled 97% of their former level of support. Considering the time and expense associated with attending it, you'd think that it would have maintained it's "premier" status of earlier years. With the big names all greedy for cash, it was no surprise that they would rather compete for a couple grand flying foamies than waste their time competing essentially for "bragging rights" at a fading contest. I fly JR exclusively, and I'm sad to see this contest wither and die. [&o][&o]

I do not know of any reasons other than the club sponsering the event lost it's field to development. They are in the process of getting another field, but this will take a while.
