Our judging seminar is one week away on Sat 5/19 and at this point we only have six pilots pre-registered. The interesting thing about this is that of the six, two are Unlimited guys, two are Advanced, one is Sportsman and one is Basic. Except for the Basic guy, I know that each of these people have been to two or more judging schools in recent years.
Why is this interesting??? Because the people that really need this stuff aren’t planning to attend - and that is very unsettling.
To be a good IMAC pilot, you need to know the rules that you are flying against. In addition, one who chooses to fly IMAC also accepts the responsibility of being a decent IMAC judge. It is a responsibility you owe your fellow pilots and one that they owe you. You don’t want a bad judge in the chair when you are flying and neither does any of your peers. To judge, you need to know the rules and, unfortunately, our rules are not something you get through osmosis or just flying. There is some detail associated with our rules and it takes a bit of effort and study to learn it. Sorry! No way around it. The judging seminar is the easiest way for you to learn this stuff.
Please show up - if at all possible. We will be at the Kirkland public library starting at 10am next Sat. Directions are on the flier which is on the NW web site (on the 07 Schedule page) at :
http://www.imacnw.com
See you there.
For those of you out of the Seattle area, we will run additional seminars if you can get a group together. Just let me know.
