2008 Basic sequence...
A pal and I are going to try to get ready for a local contest here in a couple of months. We dabbled in IMAC a few years ago, but never got really started. So we're starting over.
I have downloaded the sequence, but have not learned how to read Aresti. By going back and looking over my old notes, I have figured out most of the manuevers, with the exception of #7 and #9.
As I understand the 2008 basic sequence:
1. Roll
2. 1/2 Cuban Eight
3. Hammerhead
4. Loop
5. Humpty Bump
6. Reverse Shark's Tooth
7. This looks like a 360 degree circle???
8. Shark's Tooth
9. No clue; a squared-off Immelman???
10. 1.5 turn spin
Is there a written tutorial for the 2008 program like for the 2006 sequence somewhere? That was a big help.
.

RE: 2008 Basic sequence...
Steve,
Go to page 3 of this forum and you will see a thread called 2008 Basic Narrative. I'd post a link but I cannot with the iPhone.
#7 is a 360 aerobatic turn and #9 is a vertical upline or half square loop depending on who you talk to.

Does it matter witch way the flat spin is executed. I was practicing spinning to the left.

There is no such animal as a "flat spin" in IMAC. Go to the IMAC website and take a look at the rules on spins.
But to answer your question, unless the spin direction determines a required exit direction you are free to spin either direction.
In the upper classes there are time when you must spin in a certain direction to ensure you exit in the required direction. For instance you might have a 1 and 1/4 spin to exit cross headed outbound. If flying right to left you would have to spin to the right. Flying form the other direction you would spin to the left. And if you decided to head inbound rather than out then the directions would change yet again. The direction required is based on the way you need to be headed at the end of the spin.
For 1, 1 1/2, and 2 turn spins the direction does not matter.
