Jason Dumke, Contest Director, Twin Cities IMAC Classic, here.
The date for this year’s TCIC has been moved up to June 13-14, but the location will remain the same.
This year’s event looks to be even bigger and better than last year’s. Andy Thomas, Contest Coordinator, and Jim Dumke, Head Scorekeeper and I have set a goal of having at least 25 participants, up from the 16 we had last year. We have at least 4 new local guys who will be participating (hopefully a few more), in addition to a larger out-of-town contingent.
We are planning on holding the Freestyle portion of the event on Saturday night, and are also pushing to have on-site camping available for the out-of-towners. Concessions will once again be available as well as the amenities offered last year.
Last year we held a drawing and all of our pilots received a prize donated by one of our event sponsors. As the event grows larger, I am not sure we will be able to award a prize to everyone, but we will sure try.
Last year the weather was great on Friday (practice day), Saturday, and Sunday. Saturday late afternoon a front came through and forced us to postpone the Freestyle portion until Sunday afternoon, but I have checked and this year the weather looks to be about perfect ;-)
One last thing: If you have never participated in an IMAC event and are even remotely interested, this is the perfect event to get your feet wet! There will be a great mix of experienced folks and relative new-comers all of whom enjoy IMAC and are willing to promote and help the rookies. There you have it-No excuse not to come and have some fun with us.
Feel free to forward this e-mail on to anyone else you think may be interested.

Sounds good, Nedyob.
Some guys may sign up early on mini-iac.com, and some will sign up the morning of the event. I think we will have somewhere between 16 and 25 guys. Of course, the more the better. I am still trying to get more competitors fired up to attend.
When do you plan on arriving? We will likely have a pretty good group at the field all day on friday, practicing, etc.
I am also planning on registering anyone who wants to on friday so that we can speed the process on Saturday morning.

If you see a UAV way up high just know its me looking down from high above. (only kidding because the FAA wont let us out of restricted)

Hi Guys,
Well, the weather is looking good for this weekend. It sounds like we may have a fairly good turnout. I am hoping to have over 20 people.
We are lining up some great prizes for the pilot raffle.
So far we have:
Airtronics RDS-8000 2.4 gHz radio system
Supre Tigre G-90
DA gift certificates
Smartfly Products
Additional assorted products from Hobbico
Here is a link for a map to the field.

I will be at the field all day on Friday for practice.
Harry-we will miss you this year, but you better plan on being there next year!!!!
I'll see you this weekend, James.

To all that didn't attend the 2009 TCIC IMAC Classic you missed out on a fun filled weekend hosted by Jason and Andy and with a little help from Jasons Dad.
I would like to again thank them for putting on a Great IMAC Competition. Posted are some pitures from the last two days. Man 70 some degrees, hardly any wind, but a lot of fierce competing. Enjoy and hope to see you all next year. Sorry about the switch problem.</p>

Want to give a shout out to Jason and Andy.
Great job guys. This was my first contest and I had a blast. You guys made a new-bee like me feel very welcome, helped with great coaching, and made it a very fun atomsphere.
Let's go to Chicago!!!!
Thanks Guys.

Dont worry, we are all far from pro. Check out www.mini-iac.com for the sequences and check out FG for videos on how it should look. The basic sequence is a great way to start.

Allright, guys, time to get this going again.
This year's event will be June 12-13 at Tri-Valley in Rosemount, Minnesota again.
Looking forward to seeing everyone there...
