Hey Guys.........
Have the Hangar 9 97"Cap set up with a Zenoah GT-80.
I have aFutaba 9CAP Radio, and all Digital Servos.
I can program in basically anything to try it out.
Still new, getting the kinks out. The engine gets stronger every flight. I want to start flying in SPortsman IMAC.
Any hints or tips on what you've done to this airplane to tweak the flying characteristics ? CG ? Diff ? Mixes ? Expo ?
Any help would be great.
The plane 'sport' flies fantastic right of the board.
Now I want to trim it out for a few contests.
Looking to see what some of youe 'experts' have done.

Most guys, including myself have mixed out the pitch coupling when rudder is applied.
The plane will tuck to the wheels so we just mix in up elevator to compensate.

I dont like mixes on this airplane. It has little pitch coupling so I just to it by hand because at different attitudes it will be different.
The cg is not that critical if you keep it within the recamended area.
Expo always helps.
I have saved close to a pound off the airplane so it is around 23 lbs now and I could tell the difference. It flies very nice and you can really tell doing 3D stuff, because it just floats around.

I had a carbon fiber prop and put a wood prop on, carbon gear, NiMH batteries (had Nicd's). The cf gear saves 1/2 a pound, and so on.
I dont know if I am brave enough to try the cf wing tube.
I am running a 3W-75 single so the lighter the better.

How's the gear been holding up? I've had my share of problems with the CF gear on my Edge. You are correct......1/2 pound between the stock gear and the CF. I haven't had any issues with my wing tube but you don't save as much weight as you do with the gear (saves about 2 oz if I recall)
Are you running stock mufflers or cans?

stock mufflers. The cf gear is like 9 oz. and the stock gear is around 16 oz.
I love the gear, it feels like the stock gear on landing, it may even obsorb more. I have not had any hard landings on the gear, but I fly off a grass field. I got a good deal on the gear so I bought them. They look really cool also.
