Freestyle? How'd the Blind Man's Bluff go? |
RE: JR Challenge 2005
are those the finals????
|
RE: JR Challenge 2005
Yes finals.
The blind mans bluff seemed to go very well, made a lot of people nervous at first but I think most enjoyed it. |
RE: JR Challenge 2005
What propulsion system was Leseburg using?
|
RE: JR Challenge 2005
A Combination of propane fuel and methane gas!

RE: JR Challenge 2005
any scores available...how close was the runnings for Advanced and Unlimited?
|
RE: JR Challenge 2005
Blind Mans bluff yesterday was topped this morning. During the pilots meeting, when Andy said, Does everyone have their unknowns from last night memorized? Good. Then he picked up the trash can and said "put them in". He then issued a brand new set of unknowns and said. "First flyer up in 45 minutes". I was second up. Fun!

RE: JR Challenge 2005
I am very dissapointed that some pictures I took on my digital camera did not make it through the airport x ray machine. Oh well, will have to do it the old fashioned way (through words).
Great to see the Hamilton's. Stephen is now taller than Dad. They both won their respective classes. Although Forrest Waller was coming on strong, winning the final unknown this morning (Forest suffered from what most of us non- Floridians face- the cold hard fact that we come out of hibernation to fly in the contest "cold". We'll have to do something about that.. every class being won by residents of Florida. Mark started with his electric Extra. Yes, electric Extra. Propane and methane? Must have been a fuel cell. It was flying well until the battery (and the entire plate) let go at the bottom of the inverted humpty and punched out of the canopy. Was talking around the foamy Tensor... talking about the best type of oil to use in RCS, other engines, and I said, "in 5 to 10 years, perhaps we'll all be flying electrics". |

RE: JR Challenge 2005
Hello,
I would also like to thank all the folks at the JR. We had a great time and look forward to next year. We also were excited that our friends Don Hamilton and his son Stephen took their 42% Velox to 1st place in Sportsman and Intermediate. We were excited to see that. Great job to all the supporters of the event and contestants. Thanks John www.aerotech-rcmodels.com |

RE: JR Challenge 2005
Chris flew very well. I consider him a very talented flyer that has the championships in his hand if he continues.
Did I tell you about the snowball fight in Florida on Sunday morning? Picture 70 guys being told to throw away their unknowns and call sheets that they spent the night before rehearsing. The tent quickly turned into a frenzy of "snowballs" after everyone crumpled up their papers and began throwing them at Andy, who was standing there trying to catch them all in the trash can he was holding. This is probably one of the most memorable moments I've ever had flying RC Aerobatics competition. My hat is off to Andy for stretching the limit on this innovative approach. |

RE: JR Challenge 2005
Excellent video! Is that Barry's "new" Yak with Mark Leseberg flying it? Makes me want to just throw on about five layers of cloths and go flying! Damn....the @#$$% flying fields around here are currently only good for one thing...a tractor pull cause they are soooo muddy! Man I hate the NE in winter!!

RE: JR Challenge 2005
Thanks for the video. My Dad & Uncle were down there for the show and said it was great. There was one person that had a "stand-out" freestyle show--they flew just before Chris. Does anyone have Video of that or know who it was & what they were flying? Was it Mark L JR?
|
RE: JR Challenge 2005
Yes it was Mark Leseberg, Jr. flying Dalton Aviation's 42% Extra 260.
I don't know of anyone having a video at the moment but am pretty sure there were a couple of people taking them. www.daltonaviation.com |
