Default JetCat GPS Unit Mounting

My JetCat GPS has worked well when mounted horizontally in my jets. My question is: Can it be mounted vertically and still give valid readings? I don't think I can find a place to mount it horizontally in my F-18 - no room!

Thanks

Nick

Hi Nick,

Did you call the shop on this? Sorry for the delay, I assumed you talked to the shop. If not I can find out tomorrow.

No I didn't have a chance to call the shop, Matt. Just assumed you or John would have the answer. Let me know what you discover.

Thanks

Nick

Hi Nick,

If you have the little domed receiver, then the top of the dome should face up for best performance. I think it will still work in other orientations, just not as good.

Is yours the domed one?

Regards,

Matt

Yes, Matt, mine is the little, purple domed one.

I'm probably going to have to call the shop tomorrow anyway. I've always used it with the "adapter" with a v4.9 ECU.

Tried locking in to satellites today with a v5.00d ECU without the "adapter" (connected directly to the ECU) and it didn't work.

Set for COM1 on the GSU.

Thanks

Nick
