Default P120 Temperature ?

Hi John & Matt

I hope you may be able to help me out I have a Jetcat P120 since 2001 had about 9 hours use version 2 ecu, upgraded to version 5 last year had a further 8 hours running on this ecu.

The thing is i notice the Temperature slowly increasing at max throttle setting 123000 rpm temperature is reading around 620c and over a time of about 30sec will increase to 640c holding that value at max rpm

only 10 flights prior temperature was showing 608c on acceleration to 123000 rpm and after another 30sec increasing to 620c and holding this temp.

It seems to be over a number of flights the temp is slowly increasing. When turbine was new i seem to recall a value of about 575c at max rpm i also think the turbine would hit max temp on accelaration and then temp would stablise a little lower after a short period.

Do you think this is a problem that requires sending back to be repaired or is it a case of monitoring th situation

Turbine is installed on a Kangroo
Many Thanks

It would be interesting to know the serial number of the motor in question. What you are escribing sounds very much like a worn combustion chamber. I am wondering if it is the older satinless or original inconel chamber.

That would be my first guess on the situation.

That number could be close to either a stainless or the earliest inconel chamber. My guess is it is in need of replacement. I don't know how long it would take Germany to fix it. I could get to it in about a week.
