Having a problem with my P60. After about 3.5 absolutely flawless hours on my P60, it started to sputter in flight. Happened to me twice, on separate occasions. Both times, the temp was in the 90degF plus range with pretty high humidity (last two weekends at local field here in Virginia). During flight, the RPM's will noticeably drop, to the point that I think it will flame out, and then come up to normal RPM again. This happens twice in a flight. First surge is more noticeable than the second occurance. I land immediately. No hard aerobatics, just flat out procedure turns to practice landing approaches. ECU did not record any failsafe hits or anything unusual (not sure what to look for anyway). Could it be bad fuel (water in the kero?, K-1 with Aeroshell 500)? I have some sitting in a clear container and can't see any impurities. Will go over the fuel delivery system this week. Can't see any fuel/air leaks on any of the lines/connections. Fuel blockage? Bad pump? Bad RPM sensor? Bug injestion? Any ideas?

I found the problem to my P60 burping in flight. Sure enough, a fuel/air bubble problem. The filter did have some crud in it. Although the pump voltage didn't indicate a blocked filter, as Bob had me look at the max temps and pump voltages on the ECU. When I unscrewed the retaining nuts on the end of the filter, I noticed that the line had a cut in it. The cut was due to the sharp machined barbs on the filter housing itself. Maybe I screwed on the retaining nuts too tight and it cut the line or from it bouncing around. Who knows? Once I cleaned out the filter, smoothed out the barbs with some wet/dry sandpaper, replaced the lines and safety tied all the line connections, the P60 has worked flawlessly for 4 flights. I even had to reduce the pump start voltage because I was getting a flame on start-up. Probably due to the pump motor breaking in and pump freeing up after 25 flights and 4.5 hrs run time. Thanks again.
