Default P80 Burp

I just tried my P80 today with my ECU that was upgraded this winter with the new version 5.10H. And when I go from Idle to full throttle, its seems OK, BUT from about 90 000 rpm to full throttle. It BURP for 2 seconds around 100 000 rpm, is this a problem with the new version of the ecu. Is there to much fuel being pumped in, it is safe to fly. I will try to get a video and give Bob a call Monday, but I wanted to see if anyone have any clue what is happening. P80 serial# 965B the combustion chamber and bearing changed two years ago.

I would like to clarify BURP, it makes a noise that sound like a very loud cat puring to two second. And keep ramping up to max rpm.

Do you know if its ECU problem or a internal turbine problem?

What i know about compressor stall is the compressor can not push enough air through the diffuser, and with enough compression, it cavitates and can not push any more air for a millisecond and then the process starts again for a short period. Basically I think it is due to too fast ramping up. So the cure is to increase the ramping time in the ECU

Hi Kelly,

Yes give Bob a call. Compressor stall in a JetCat is very rare indeed. I have only heard it after extreme FOD damage. I would hope there is an adjustment, but Bob will need to talk you through it.

Regards,

Thanks Guys! I gave Bob a call and as you said its was Compressor stall. The programming in the new version was to aggressive for my old P80, so Bob ran me through some setting in the ECU. And I tried it out tonight and everything is is OK.

Hello Niclas!

Just give Bob a call and in 5 minutes, it will be fixed? You only have to change a few setting in the ECU. Kelly
