Default p-60se fuel pump problem

I started my p-60se for the first time today without a problem but noticed that it was not idling smoothly. This was due to air bubbles generating from the fuel pump feeding to the turbine. There were no visible air bubbles feeding into the fuel pump only out (a frothy fuel air mix no big air pockets). I increased the rpm and the turbine ran up smoothly without hesitation and stabilised well, the bubbles did'nt get worse @ the higher pump speed but were still evident, just didnt affect the the turbine like @ idle. The pump was mounted horizontally when this was happening, when I moved the pump to a vertical position (fuel lines to the top) the bubbles dissapear completely and the turbine ran smooth @ idle. I moved it back to horizontal thinking it was only air trapped in the pump which has been cleared but the problem came back.
Is this a case of a new pump just needing to run in a bit or could it be an internal air leak (no fuel was leaking out of the pump)?

check that you don't have the input side to the pump restricted somehow causing cavitation.

Hello,

If you are moving the pump, I would be suspect of leakage on the "suction" side of the system. Many times, "side loads" of the nipples and tubing can cause leakage.

Regards,

Thanks for your input guys, but after further investigation I noticed fuel residue slowly building up between the protective plastic sheath and the pump itself, it was not comming from the input and output nipples. Contacted rep and new pump is on the way.
