I have just recently acquired an old JR 11XDSM. Is it easy to change that from Mode1 to Mode2??? Secondly i have looked into other websites to upgrade the firmware however there is non available and all recommend 11XG update which is available on the net. ANY RECOMMENDATIONS or after updating will the TX still work on DSM/DSM2 or will change protocol to DMSS??
Please help am in Australia and there may de different variants of 11XDSM

Hi,

DSM and DMSS are different protocols and as far as I know, no JR radio has both protocols in one machine. Either replace the module or even replace the radio. I'm not sure which radio you're reffering or using. JR 11X Zero, which is module based, or other 11X. I have to change the module on my Zero, to switch between DSM and DMSS protocol.

I know that they are 2 different technologies/protocols. My question is that if I upgrade my firmware on 11xDSM from website which has 11XG firmware will my TX still work or there will be garbage and will not be able to operate.

Previously I assumed your radio product type complies with the limitations in its firmware documentation. Apart from that, maybe other friends who have had the exact same experience can share, sorry. Or more definitely please contact to JR https://www.jrpropo-jp.com

I tried to contact them JR people in Japan and their reply was to that they no longer support JR/DSM cause JR now have DMSS tried to contact SPEKTRUM and they also said they can help so am in a limbo here I will sacrifice on firmware cause on YouTube they say that after upgrading firmware only Telemetry will not work. Fingers crossed will attempt or will a junk box. It’s like going to casino.
