Folks, recently I purchased a couple of foam minis and am trying to avoid having a different tx for every one that I may purchase in the future and really don't want the little toy tx. that oftentimes come with the plane.
Main problem now is that I bought a bottom of the line Spektrum DXS. It works with my Dancing Wings profile Stearman fine. I just got a UMX-Pitts and it binds ..sort of.. I can't reverse any channel and throttle doesn't work.
I can't find anything at all about the DSX's compatibility with anything.
It works fine with the Stearman which is checked off on the box-
Rx : DSM2/X.
The UMX Pitts recommends a Spektrum Tx with DSMX/DSM2 technology but won't bind properly so far.
What am I missing here? Why does the lowly DSX work on one but not the other?

Huge radio thread section over on RCGroups. Lots of input from knowledgeable users as well as from Engineers who work for Spektrum. You will find recomendations from some for "open source" radios which I do not personally like. Since you've already kind of started on the Spektrum path, I'd suggest you consider staying there. A little more money than the open source stuff, but by far the biggest selection of radio gear and grundles of models to select from at Horizon Hobby. The CS is also about the best you'll find.

Thank you... Looking back, it's actually been more like 20 years!
I heard from Spektrum customer support stating that they would look into it which leads me to think that since they don't say that it won't work that maybe it SHOULD work.
Anyway, I'll check the link out and thanks again.
