narrow band
Hi Dan,
Can you shed some light on the Centruy 7 PCM with NER 627X receiver, as to whether I should upgrade to a new system or invest in upgrading this system. Is this unit narrow band, like the same vintage Futaba systems,or what?
regards
Craig

If the receiver has a grey crystal in it, it is narrow band. If it has a black crystal, it is wide band. If it is worth upgrading, is up to you. Generally speaking narrow banding is not too expensive, though it does require a new receiver. Aside from this, if it is worth servicing depends on how much needs to be done to it, and how much you like the system.

Ok, the receiver is in a grey plastic casing. so the receiver is narrow band - that's great, how about the Tx module, is it narrow band also? The module is an NET-J72P, FCC ID BRW8ZCNET72 FP.
thanks

It should be narrow band. It would have a J72M module number if it is wide band. Your module should say PCM about in the middle of the module in large letters. If so, it is narrow band.
