Default any news on a 10X replacement?

G'day Danny,

mate quick question for you. I am curious as to whether there will be a 10X replacement in the offering any time soon? I know the new 9X has come out but it seems to be not quite a flagship model so thought maybe a new 10ch might be in the works?

I'd like to get a new radio next year and leaning to the 10X but would hate to buy then see a new version come out [:@]

Of course I relaise such matters are probably strict Commercial in confidence so you probably can not say a thing!

anyway look forward to any advice you can give.

cheers
Peter

Danny:

whats up now with a 10X replacement?
Futaba comes out with a new high end radio next day´s.
What will JR do now? Or must we change the system now?

We here at Macgregors are in a similar situation to danny, we haven't heard anything about a replacement for the 10X. If there is anything in the pipeline, then it won't be scheduled for release for a good while yet.

What would happen is that JR would ship pre-release sets so that it gives the distributors time to get it into statutory testing for FCC & CE marking, which as you may well know is a time consuming exercise and a legal requirement !

But to date, nothing new has arrived on our benches........

If I hear of anything, I'll let you know. As you have probably seen by now, the 9X II seems to be the latest beast but as previously stated, this seems to be the 9303 rebadged for the rest of the world. Thats the only one that I am aware of in the pipeline.

Can you tell if there are any differences between the US 9303 and the new 9XII ?

From what I have seen and heard, they are effectively the same beast.

9303 is purely for the US market and the 9X Mk II is the equivalent for the rest of the world.

From what I have seen, read and interpreted.........

Heli : Additional mixes increasing it from 3 to 6, Additional Governer function, Swash types increased from 4 - 6, Additional cyclic to throttle mixing for Aileron, Elevator and Rudder.

Glider : 5 Flight modes, the inclusion of the device select, flight mode delays, additional motor hold, increase in number of timers.

Additional is the increase from 20 - 30 model memories, the addition of Analog trim on the throttle ( some may say this is a step back, but its a personal choice ).

I suppose it is just rumors then. I have heard everything from 16 channels, flip screens, PCM 2048 and new stick designs.

If JR is busy with something they must atleast let as know, instead people are speculating about what might be next best thing.

i agree with deathbunny if JR don't inform people of future developments, they will start look at the opposition especially with the Futaba 14mz for about the same price as a 10X.
We the consumer need information especially those looking at upgrading. Do you sit on your 5 year old radio or wait 1 year (which i would do if JR had something in the pipe line), or get the futaba 14mz if we don't know whats happening. then find in a years time a new JR is on the market. People are sitting on the fence ready to drop ether side.

We are asking JR if there are any details on a new Tx unit. All I know so far is that the engineers are constantly looking at new designs, now whether these appear as a new radio is anyones guess.

Its just like a new car, the engineers don't sit back on their bums once a new model appears, they start working on new concepts, build prototypes, test them, redesign etc etc until they have something that is feasible and is an improvement on the system it is designed to replace.

There MAY be a replacement for the 10X early next year, but as soon as I hear anything I'll let people know via this forum.

I went through the same concerns last winter only with Futaba 9Z vs Jr 10X. If I went to JR, it meant getting new receivers, switch harnesses, wiring etc. I have three Futaba sets - - latest a 9CAP (three years ago). Well, I evaluated all the information that I could get (my day job is research scientist) and determined that it was a JR after looking through the JR electronic manual and Basic set-up guide. JR is sooo much easier to program and set up than Futaba it's unreal. It doesn't make sense to me to spend so much money on a fine set and then can't find easy ways to program the features your want. JR makes that easy!!

I don't care if JR does come up with a new TX. I will keep what I have for a long time. JR has come out with a TX module and receiver you can change channels easily so what more could one want!!!

10X for me.

Bobby
