JR Radio used for flight sim
If I use my TX to play a sim with the antenna down and the crystal still in, is there any chance of damage to the radio ? The radio isn't turned on, but it does power up when plugged into the sim just lika a buddy box. Does doing this still drain the batteryat the normal rate?? Also, I heard that if the crystal is removed, it will use little if any battery charge. Is this also true? I still fly with this radio as well.
Thanks,
Rick

RE: JR Radio used for flight sim
When plugged into the DSC connector, only the processor board is powered up. The RF board is disabled and so no RF signal is generated.
Current drawn from the battery is minimal and you can use it on the sim for hours.
