Problem with 642 transmitter
I have an old and well used 642, the gimbels are worn out and need replacing, (I was going to send it in for service)
however in the last 2 days a programming glitch has reared its head.
I have airbrake set up on the plane (2Meter pattern plane) and it has been fine for -30 flights, then yesterday I showed up at the field and the airbrake funtion has reversed itself to flaps, and the servos (2 mixed with Aux1) have reset thier center up almost 1/4"
I checked the settings and comfirmed nothing had changed the servos where hooked up properly.
I reprogrammed the radio and re centered the arms on the servos and flew 5 flights with no problem.
(turning both transmitter and reciever on+off 5 times. ) I go home recharge the plane and go to the field today.
the airbrake is now back to flap funtion. (instead of up they go down. )
I know no one messed with the radio , it is a 7 year old radio and I replaced the batterys this year.
I am guessing the proc is toast.
Do you still have parts for this radio? would it be economicly feasble to repair it? (My wife would use it with her gliders.)
I am buying a new 9303 this week.
Thanks

RE: Problem with 642 transmitter
My initial guess would be that the lithium battery may be drained, or the CPU needs to be reset, but without seeing it, it is difficult to say. I would recommend sending it in for a check up, if you would like an estimate before proceding with the repair, state this in a letter including a description of the problem, your name, address, and daytime contact number.
