Century VII rcvr. crystal
Hi Danny
I am still flying(like today) my original Century VII radio that is now 20 plus years old. This radio is on ch42. I fly with a Hitec RCD rcvr as I have long since demolished the original ABC&W rcvr. I recently purchased a Century VII xmtr and ABC&W rcvr. on ch 56. As described the combo did not function. I swapped xmtr modules and the xmtr. worked fine with the RCD rcvr. I purchased a new ch56 rcvr crystal AND a ch 42 crystal. ABC&W rcvr still does not function. Both these crystals are in a GREY casing. I mention the case color because I have just been told that I need a BLACK cased crystal.
As so often occurs,I am lost in a GREY area.
HELP. And thanks in advance.
Dick L.

RE: Century VII rcvr. crystal
Black crystals are used in the transmitter, and grey in the receiver (except for dual conversion receivers which use a red crystal which include the 940 and 945). What receiver do you have that you are trying to use with the C7? Perhaps you have a receiver that is not compatible with that system.

Those should be compatible, the receiver would use the grey crystal, and TX should use the black. Check to make sure your connections are good and batteries charged. If the problems persist, you can send them in for a check up.
