Default Buddy Box for DX7

Hey Danny,

I'm looking for a buddy box for my DX7 so I can teach family members and some friends the basics of flying. Is there one that is compatible with the DX7? Thanks

Any JR or Spektrum system will work. This is one of the least expensive options.

I heard some of the ParkZone radios such as the 5AP (comes with Stryker C) will work as a buddy box. Is that true? If so, what do I need to do to get it to work correctly (turn slave off, leave on, etc.)? Are there certain cables that will be necessary?
If I were to get the JR Trainer/Buddy Box, what would I need to get to get it working correctly?

Danny, When a two DX7's are used will the master and slave xmitters have the same setup as far as travel, expo etc or will the settings in the master be used and the slave will only use the stick positions of the slave, corn fused

Using 2 DX7s in buddy box mode is very effective.

Programmed correctly (see the manual) the master has full control of trims and the slave non at all, hence there is no need to worry about the setup of the slave at all, as only the stick inputs are passed on.

I have tried this with a pair of DX7s and it works just fine.

If you use the pilot link function the slave system does not need to be programmed for the model.

Dan,

My trainer system does not allow the use of expo or other features of the master radio from the buddy box. It appears the radios have to be exactly the same for this. Will the DX-7 allow a JR S400 or other low cost compatible buddy box to fly the airplane with these features so the trainee can take avantage of expo in the DX-7.

Thanks

Brett

Yes, if the DX7 is the master system, if pilot link is selected that will work.
