PCM 9XII (9303?) Screen Problem
After being switched off for maybe 4 months, I powered up my 9xII the other day and the screen was very dark. Replaced battery to no effect. It appears the greenish background on the LCD screen has every "pixel" slightly activated, giving a dull/dark effect all over. The display is still otherwise working, just hard to read now.
Any ideas on likely cause of these symptoms? I've yet to pull the back off and do the plug-jiggling yet!

Can't see any contrast adjustment facility on this radio - but yeah, that's sort of the effect. When I switch it on, it looks fine for around 0.5s and then darkens, so screen figures barely visible against the darkened background.
Had a look inside last night, but LCD is about 3 pcb's deep in the guts. I chickened out and reassembled - might be a job for the tech's I think! [:@]

The contrast adjustment is the area on the lower right-hand corner of the opening function list display. Just to the rear of the airplane in the ACRO mode. Highlight it and turn the roller toward the screen to lighten the display. If that doesn’t do it, you’ll have to talk with a technician.

Thanks Alan, it was that after all! Funny, I never knew it was there, and couldn't find in manual....
I'm off to have a slice of humble pie.
Grateful Cam
