Default DX6i: airplane mode electric motor cutoff

Could you please tell me step by step, how to lock the throttle with a switch (like flaps switch), so there is no chance that i accidentally move the throttle stick and the motor starts unexpectedly? Or using the throttle cut button (that is used for internal combustion), even for momentary stop? This feature is available in heli mode, but i want to keep my radio on airplane mode for other reasons, and still be able to cancel (block) the throttle for safety reasons. If other radios, such as Hitec, have this feature on some of their models, why not yours?
At least, make this program available for us here, so we can update our radios and fly safer.

your esc should be programmable to do that. read the instructions. there is a series of beeps on most esc's that won't let the throttle come on unless you go full throttle and then back to dead low stick position ..........then it will start the motor.........fail safe/////////////////RON

Dear Sir: Thank you very much for trying to help.
All my escs (and ihave several brands) do not avoid starting the motor by inadvertently moving the throttle stick, no matter how they are programmed, so i regret to tell you that your suggestionis not the solution. I also have read the instructions and there is no answer to my question, andeven ihave approached Horizon with the same question and they have not provided a solution.
On the other hand, someone provided aprogram that works, and i alreadyam using it inmy DX6i so i flip a switch and the motor does not run even if i move the throttle stick, and still am able to program a trim for climb and another for glide.
So my problem is solved. Thanks again for your good intentions.

Hi Phil, could you share with us more details about the program?

I also have a DX6i and was unable to program a cut-off switch for the motor.

thanx

When you say someone provided you with a Program, do you mean he provided you with instructions on how to set up Programmable Mixers, in the Tx, to solve your problem?

To make it work, i had to rewire the button, soldering a spst switch from radio shack in place of it.
If you are willing to do this, let me know and i will look for the step-by-step sequence. I filed it in somewhere.
It is not something that occurred to me; it's somebody's idea, but it works.

Phil,
It has been a long time since your posting. Is there any chance that you still have the sequence to install DX6i airplane electric motor cut off?
I would appreciate any help you can give me.

i found the program. here it is:
(press; s: scroll)
p once; s 9x to setup list is highlighted; p once; s 5x until throcut is highlighted; p once; s until position inh is highl...; ponce; s once (inh to act);p once; tx off
trim: down all the way
as i mentioned before, you have to replace the button with a microswitch (spst) from radio shack.
i believe ALL radios should come with this feature.
