Default DX9 issues

Used my buddies DX9 for my maiden flight in preference to my DX7. Fine but for one problem where could not shutdown the engine. Throttle stick and trim down to minimum and it still kept running. So had to turn the fuel tap off. Put trim and throttle stick back up and it wouldn't go to cooling. Had to unplug ECU and RX batteries and reconnect before it would good to cooling. Went through learning program few times and made no difference. Any ideas? Anyone else using a DX9? I fiddled with throttle end point adjustment and sub-trim but no change.

If nobody else is going to answer this I will try. Did you look at the % in the second screen after you learned the radio? It should read 0 with trim and throttle closed 15 to 25% with trim up and 100% with trim and throttle up.

Thanks for the reply. I'll have a check next time I get the DX9 from my friend.

...can I just ask what you mean on idle down and up. There is an idle bottom, middle, and top.

Is idle down the bottom position and idle up the top position?

As George mentioned, in the second screen on the data terminal, with the throttle and throttle trim both at min, it should read 0%, with the throttle trim at max it should read ~15-20%, with trim and throttle at max it should read 100%. If not the TX learn sequence needs to be carried out again. After the learn sequence is carried out correctly and with the throttle trim at max, the green LED on the ECU should be iluminated and "Ready" should show on the screen.

Cheers,
Smithy.

Ah, on the Data Terminal. Misunderstood. Thought George meant on the Transmitter. Discovered that the value on the DT was 0% at throttle min and trim max. Adjusted throttle sub-trim until it came up to 16% on the DT. Will do an engine start tomorrow and check it works as it should. Thanks all for your help.

Tested today and engine worked perfectly so thanks again.

Do have another question. To start I put trim up to max, throttle up and back to idle, hand terminal reads 'Burner On'. I then have to throttle up and back down to get the engine start. Is this normal?

Dominic, you shouldn't have to again, just wait after you it reads "Burner On"
Thanks to George and Brett for the earlier support!

Cheers,
Barry

OK. Will do that next time. Fairly sure I waited something like 10 seconds and nothing happened and as soon as I went full throttle again it started. I'll wait longer and see what happens. Cheers.

That's normal, it takes about that to heat up the burner plug.

Ahhh OK. And there was me thinking it would start up as quick as all my EDF jets. Going to have to learn a little patience aren't I.
