Telemetry?

Hi All,

My Dad was nice enough to buy me a new K45 for Xmas, and I was getting ready to stuff it into my Firebird for testing. AND, this one came with the new ECU. (Very nice) So, the other day, I sent Gaspar an email to ask about the Jeti telemetry adaptor, and he told me this wasn't one of his ECU's.

SO...........

Is there a telemetry adaptor coming out from Kingtech?

Gaspar said he would work on it... but he didn't have an ECU to test it on.

Congrats on your 45 Tony, we are working on a single module telemetry, but don't have an answer as to why it's taking so long...., meanwhile, we thank Gaspar for willing to work with us, if necessary, we'll surely be in touch.

Regards,
Barry

I saw the factory posted a working unit. Not sure on price but I would imagine its being manufactured as we speak. It works with all major brands.

Thanks I saw that as well just curious as too when it will be available...

Dr Honda 04-05-2017 11:58 AM

I made a post on Facebook... but didn't get a response. Do we have a price for this yet?

Dansy 04-05-2017 12:50 PM

I did some searching and It's listed on some European web site, to be coming later...so I'm guessing it's just a matter of time....

Let's just hope our wait is not in vain - it must have 'Fuel remaining' to be of any real use. The rest of telemetry is just bling and of little use whilst in the air.

Sure.

But with a radio like a Jeti... it can log the telemetry along side the radio info. So, if there is a issue... you can find out what happened. (hopefully LOL)

...as I said - whilst in the air. Please this was not meant as a radio brand comment.

Absolutely.... I hate some of the crap I've been seeing lately. It's just what I'm using. I was just agreeing with you that it doesn't do much for you while flying... other than, maybe, a low voltage alarm. I was just saying, the telemetry helps with the "After" issues.

causeitflies 04-06-2017 12:56 PM

Telemetry I use "while in the air":
low fuel alarm
low battery alarm
weak signal alarm
low air pressure alarm/failsafe
flameout alarm
airspeed (will use on next plane)
From the ECU you should get the fuel and the flameout alerts but other parameters like RPM, EGT and pump volt. are nice for startup without the need for a GSU.

Springbok Flyer 04-15-2017 02:42 PM

Hi guys,

Saw some photo's on KingTech's FB page yesterday. Showing a unit with GSU/ECU connection on one side and JR/Jeti/Futaba/Graupner/Spectrum connection on the other side, but no further details. Anyone know any more about this?

They seem to be for sale now in Europe? according to some post on FB....might be truth or not...

Dr Honda 05-03-2017 03:38 PM

Don't know.

I asked on that face book post, and never got a response. Then, I emailed USA KingTech... haven't gotten a response from that either.

gunradd 05-09-2017 08:03 AM

Tony I still don't know much about it.... Probably give Barry a call and he can fill you in. I think they are for sale now not sure.

Dansy 05-09-2017 08:25 AM

It's on the KingTech USA site....I was looking at Pacific one and its not there....

Springbok Flyer 05-09-2017 01:56 PM

...but has anybody used one yet?

I am extremely anxious to get one of these, but I would like to get some user input first. Can anyone using one please give us some feedback on it's performance. I am mainly interested to find out how it handles fuel remaining. Personally I use Futaba, so it will be a real plus if Futaba users could chime in here.

Cheers,

Jan

Mine should be delivered tomorrow, Mine will be set up on Jr transmitter.

flejter1 05-10-2017 09:30 PM

Hi Guys,

You can find the Telemetry Module and our New Smoke pump on KingTech's website and on Pacific RC Jets website under turbine accessories. The cost of the Telemetry unit is $70.00 plus shipping.

Cheers,

Dirk

2 Attachment(s)
Got my Telemetry unit today. No instructions but they are not needed. I plugged in the 2 leads one to ecu one to my sensor port on my receiver and then added all the telemetry sensors to my screen and it worked. the Fuel consumption is on the f-pack capacity sensor. I'm sure it will have to be calibrated.

Springbok Flyer 05-17-2017 11:55 PM

Has anyone worked out how to get 'Fuel remaining' on this yet?

Jan

jesse2357 05-18-2017 02:21 AM

Yes on JR it just uses the capacity function of the flight pack. Not sure how many ML equals mah I'm set at 4000 with 20% reserve from r my alarm to go off.

Springbok Flyer 05-18-2017 03:47 AM

So does the 4000 relate to the tank capacity?
