Here's a few of the structural diagrams that Ihave drawn. They are all to scale.

pics 6/7 are of deadeye's counters.

pics 8/10 are gleaned from a diagram provided by somegeek.

Last winter I built an SSE and added Side Force Generators to help with knife edge flight. I didn't know how to engineer them so I used the looks about right aproach. As it turns out they really made a big differance in the knife edge flight. It will hold a knife edge for as long as I want it to.
I will post some pics when I go on my other computer.

I wanted to do up the SSE as a tribute to my 4yr old boy who is a Transformer fan. His favorite characters are Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. I have to do some repairs to the SSE this winter so I will be having to do some recovering. The colors will remain the same but I will make the flames smaller.

Congrats thuebner, that's a very nice looking SSE, and it's a very interesting addition to the SSE mods. BTW can you perform knife egde loops with it ?

Without the SFG's it won't hold a knife edge but once they are installed it will knife edge all day long. Sorry, but it won't knife edge loop.

Default Sig SE with OS46FX

It's been interesting viewing all the comments concerning the Sig SE, as it's a model love flying very much.
I built mine back in 2004 and have thoroughly enjoyed flying it.
I powered mine with the OS46FX and attached a Macs Tuned Pipe muffler which has quietened it down and also given more power.
I "Tuned" the Pipe for improved "Torque", not maximum HP, in order to spin bigger props ( in this case an APC 12.25 x 3.75" which the 46FX can spin at about 13,000rpm : which is all i want).
It has unlimited Vertical straight off the deck after takeoff, and can hold a hover ( still practicing ), with power to spare for climb out.
The only thing so far that I cannot achieve is Knife Edge. I even lengthened the Rudder by 20mm, but still no success.
Anyone have difficulty doing Knife Edge with their Sig SE?
I built the wings straight, plus put cross-bracing in between the Wing Ribs, and also built a Fuel Tank hatch.
In order to keep the structural integrity in the Tank area, I fibreglassed that area, along with the Landing Gear mounting area.
and, as you can see, I built up a cowl around the Engine, which improves it's looks much much better than the "slab-sided" frontal area, that I see on many models.
All in all, it is a wonderful plane to fly, and always impresses me, even to the point, that I bought 2 more Kits, and a Wing kit, for future builds.
Future unit looks like getting an OS 56FS power unit.
All due credit to it's Designer!

Regards / Happy flying, OS46FX

I had a couple of SSE's. I crashed the first and sold the second. I regretted selling it about 5 seconds after the deal was struck. Luckily, I have since found a NIB kit and it may be a building project down the road. I always loved mine. Mine was powered with a TT Pro 46 and I also used a APC 12.25 x 3.75 prop as you did, and got the same results. Great plane.
