Default Extra 300 SP

For anyone that might be interested in building a large scale aerobatic kit; this may fit the bill. This is the prototype that I should have up and going soon, but it is based off my 55% Extra 260 design that is availible now through Aerotech R/C.

Aerotech R/C 52% Extra 300 SP

Span: 150"
Length: 144"
weight: 43-48 lbs.
Engine: 170cc to 220cc

He says it's the prototype, and you have a NIB Kit?

Explanation?

Hi Dave,

The man i bought this from paid 3,000 for the kit and waited two years for it to be cut. He told me it was a prototype and only two or three even exist. Everything is still new in box but the cowl, landing gear and wheel pants and there identical to the ones in the pictures in this thread. I will go take some pictures of what i have and post.

Thanks
Dave

here are a few pics of what is outside the boxes. I did open two boxes and found the plans to take pictures but the plans don't have any names or anything to identify probably because its a prototype. Maybe Bob can confirm for us by looking at these pictures if it is the aerotech 52%

I wish I could tell you that this is the same airframe, but it is not, my airframes are all hyper-light construction and pay close attention to your pictures of your engine cowling and wheel pants. there are huge differences in both aircraft. You have a 300 and mine is a 300 SP.

I have heard legend that some years ago John Sharpless; the former owner of Aerotech had come out with something in the 50% range. The company has been under new ownership for around a year now and have two aircraft that big, first is the 55% Extra 260 that I designed, and now the 52% 300 SP that I designed and still have in the prototype process.

What is the wingspan, and fuse length of your model?

Bob,

You hit the nail on the head it looks like i own a part of the legend ) here is the shipping label on one of the boxes and as soon as i sell some large scale stuff and have the room i will open it all and spread it out and measure. The gentlemen i bought it from said 52% and he seemed very honest and knew what he was talking about. I would like to sell it if you might have an idea of its value?

Thanks for your help

I think I would go onto Aerotech's home page and see what a current day 55% kit sells for and let that be my judge. Keep in mind that it is a several year old kit and most buyers of kits like this are going to be looking for a real deal. JMO though.

Well the 330 has a 26' 7" wingspan, so that would make your kit around 50%er at 156" span.
