I was given a 76" WS Long John that needs finishing. It has all ribs in place and the fuse is mostly together.
Someone at my field mentioned that the bigger Long Johns have a habit of wing flex when doing a roll or sharp turn.
Are there any building suggestions for this plane. If not, I'll get to attaching the control surfaces, covering, and mounting the engine.
Thanks for the help.

The only Long John I know of is one of Twinman's bashes. But he does know the designer, and might be a source for you.
He's out of town now, it will be Thursday or Friday before he can respond but I'll post a note for him.
In the mean time, here's a picture of Twinman's Twin John.
Sorry, too big. I'll go edit it and then post.
Bill.

I did several mods to my Long John. I chopped 1 inch off of the nose to make it balance with my .91fs. I used ultrastik 60 dural landing gear. I added 2 more servo bays in the wing for flaps & crow. I increased the size of all control surfaces by at least 2 inches. The plane flys very well & will hover nicely. The crow (airbrake) feature is a hoot.

Rockhouse, what size WS is yours?
Does yours have flat wing tips or does it have the semi-rounded that you see on many longjohns?
Thanks.
