I was wondering if there was anyone out there who has build this kit, I've ran into a snag with the cowl. I've cut my cowl to the instructions specs, and when i put it on the aircraft i find that it is too long and too short, the length problem was easily solved, but i don't know what i should do about the cowl being too short. I was thinking of puting another peice of wood downward from the fixed top portion of the cowl downward, it is that or buy a new cowl. I'm not sure, but being 16 and unemployed i don't have a lot of cash i'm trying to find the "cheaper" solution.

The problem is that to get the cowl to come neer the chin blocks, its still got an 1/8" gap between to fixed upper portion of the cowl and the bottom.

I think I know what the problem is... I started to fit mine last night and ran into the same problem. If you try to fit the cowl over the chin block, the cowl doesn't come up high enough to meet the top, wood part of the cowl. The cowl is designed to butt up against the chin block and firewall and not over lap it. There are small hardwood blocks that attach to the firewall and upper wood portion of the cowl that are used to a screw the plastic cowl in place.

Thanks!
I didn't even think about the plywood blocks, they "slipped" my mind, but now that i think aboyut it, i don't think its supposed to actually meet the top, fixed, portion of the cowl. Itssupposed to have a hardwood monting poit right below it, thanks again!
