Default BUSA Spad firewall

I am new to 1/4 scale andgetting ready to put the firewall in BUSA's Spad. The kit comes with a 1/4 inch ply firewall, I will be installing a 31cc Ryobi conversion engine. I have read that the Ryobi requires a 3/8 inch firewall. Is the 3/8 plynecessary or can I use the 1/4 inch that comes with the kit? Thanks Tom

1/4 should do it if the ply is aircraft. You could always laminate a 1/8 aircraft ply to it if your not happy with the 1/4. This plane could use more nose weight anyway so you might as well place the weight where it will do the most good.
