Used to use Lone Star but my last order I placed was with National Balsa. Lone Star was out of a lot of the types of wood I required so I gave National a try. The wood was perfect and much better cut. I was always happy with LS though so if they have what you need in stock they are good too.

Try Mr Art. It is an online craft store that carries Midwest wood products. I have never been unhappy with wood from them. http://www.misterart.com/search/inde...west&store=ALL

For standard size sheets and sticks, I use Tower Hobbies. For the odd stuff I like Balsa USA selection. Good Luck, Dave

When I need just a sheet or two I go there too. Hobby People also has a pretty good selection. They both sell Mid West wood and it tends to be hard and heavy not to mention the cost but sometimes I'm looking for very hard balsa and it's perfect.
By buying my wood in bulk I'm able to get it in different grades, usually contest grade. I always buy way more then needed for the build I'm working on and after time I have a lot of wood on hand. Once I had nothing going on in my shop, not even repairs. Pulled out some plans and built a plane with the wood I had and called it a free plane.

For all kinds of wood I have made two large orders from balsawoodinc. Not always the best price, but I can get everything in one order, balsa, plywood, basswood, etc., so it saves me in the end only doing one order!
