Where do you get your balsa from?

Used to use Lone Star but my last order I placed was with National Balsa. Lone Star was out of a lot of the types of wood I required so I gave National a try. The wood was perfect and much better cut. I was always happy with LS though so if they have what you need in stock they are good too.

Try Mr Art. It is an online craft store that carries Midwest wood products. I have never been unhappy with wood from them. http://www.misterart.com/search/inde...west&store=ALL

If you just need a piece or two,, Michaels has a balsa/ply display too

By buying my wood in bulk I'm able to get it in different grades, usually contest grade. I always buy way more then needed for the build I'm working on and after time I have a lot of wood on hand. Once I had nothing going on in my shop, not even repairs. Pulled out some plans and built a plane with the wood I had and called it a free plane.

For all kinds of wood I have made two large orders from balsawoodinc. Not always the best price, but I can get everything in one order, balsa, plywood, basswood, etc., so it saves me in the end only doing one order!
