Throw the Sig and Balsa USA cubs in a bag, shake it good and you would have a good cub. I like the center section to stay attached to the plane, but not a fan of the way the balsa USA wings plug in. I like to be able to slid the wing on and be able to use both hands to attache the wing. Both are great planes and both are off scale.

That thing is EPIC! Definitely out of my league as far as aircraft... Though I've built a few cars that were as massive. And I was the "anvil guy" on a neighbor's plan-built as a kid; I wanna say it was a BD-1, but not sure. I was little, and it was loud in there. :P

mnemennth On my plans you will have 30 full ribs, 20 short ribs, and 26 aileron ribs to cut. Other items to cut would be would be some parts for the tail group along with the wing tips and the front fus area. All the rest is sticks. I'm looking for a kit cutter to make short kits.

Just did a little number crunching and it looks like I was off more. Using a full scale drawing for a PA18 super cub the fus at the bottom is 26 inches on the full scale. I would have to add 5/16 to both sides to make it fit. For a stand off scale that might be ok, but for true scale, that is a little more then I wanted to add.

Hey Cubman,
I see you posted a photo of the instrument panel a year ago now.
Can I get one from you still or can you point me in the direction of a place where I can buy one from.
Many thanks Cubman,
Sidekick.

Thanks Cubman for a rapid reply. Very nice.
Mine is a flat panel Sig J3 1/4 scale.
What do you think? I saw a very nice one on RCU, and someone said Cubman is the one.I think it was sort of with the instruments recessed.
We may just go with that eh!
Thanks again Cubman,
Colin.

RE: ***CUB BROTHERHOOD***
dadragon, if you haven't figured it out yet, then let me try to explain how to post:
Click the "POST REPLY" button just below and to the left of the last post. Then at the bottom of the "Message" window (where it says "File") click the "Click here to upload images and files" link. From there you can browse to where your images are and upload them. I usually try to keep my images to 1024x768. Too big and they'll take a long time to upload.
Good luck!

This I know how to do. Right click on your desktop and create new folder.
Now, connect your phone via usb chord and download pics from phone to
the folder you have created. This way you will always have just one place
to go when looking for RC pics. After you have downloaded the pics, follow
the earlier instruction given to upload to this thread. Hope this is clear as mudd.

I would like to join the brotherhood. I have a GP J-3 60 size cub. Eventually I would like to build something more scale like the BUSA or the sig one but I have to get the piper arrow I have on my table done.

Hey clubman, I think what I am getting out of this forum is that you make custom cub instrument panels? If so, how much for a 1/6 scale panel? I would certainly buy one from you after reading all of the posts on rcu. It seems you are the cub master. Lol. Let me know, because I really want one.
Steve.

MAL&CUB FLYER;I found that my cell can not transfer pics, its a verizon flip phone,so I will get a camera with the removable chip that will slip into my comp to download my stuff,so I'll wait before cutting and copeing the tubeing to have a true building log, I took the NELITZ plans and shrunk them to 120".GEO.

RE: ***CUB BROTHERHOOD***
Hey clubman, or who ever else wants to chime in. I am getting towards the end of a 1/6 sig cub build and am putting a lot of thought into the power plant.what engine would you guys go with for scale type flying? I don't need unlimited vert or anything like that. I have other planes for that. I want it th fly like a real cub, low and slow. I have an old OS 25 MAX FSR, but I would really like a 4 banger. How about the saito 40?that was my thought, but hey, if I knew I wouldn't be asking. Any way, I really appreciate your input. Thanks, Steve.

RE: ***CUB BROTHERHOOD***
speaking of paint I have seen so many yellows and only a few look like the real thing so when I did my first cub (Goldberg ofcorse)I looked for the proper yellow, went to HomeDepot and in their color chart I found (meadow gold) in latex, what a rich yellow so I do all the cubs that way with a satin finish and it looks like the LockHaven color, what are you folks using?just a lil something to keep this wonderfull thread going.Geo.
