Has anyone built any of the unionville kits? I was thinking of either the Norseman or the J2 cub. Anyone have pictures or info on building these or how they perform?

I have both the 1.20 size DHC-3 Otter & 12Ft WS DHC-2 Beaver kits I am working on.
These are builders kits with very sketchy instructions. That being said they are not a complicated kit.
You need to study the plans well.
All the Unionville kits have a reputation for flying well as far as I have heard & seen.

Where did you get your kit, I have been looking for one, but can't find it, the hobby store online indicates they are out of stock

You could check Canadian hobby shops for ones in stock as well and RC Canada for used ones.
Good luck.

Chris, I second the opinion that these are builder's kits. It helps to have some experience scratch building to get one of these done. The wood quality was very good on the 6' Otter I'm building for a club member.
Here's the build thread: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_10...m.htm#10837455

Pinnacle Hobbies in Markam has a few in stock. Give them a ring.

HEY CRISP I BUILT THERE TURBO BEAVER LAST WINTER, JUST HAVE TO COVER THE FUSE. AS SOMEONE SAID THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE SKETCHY, I CANT STESS IT ENOUGH TO READ THEM VERY
CAREFULLY AND TO READ A FEW STEPS AHEAD. AS FORE FLYER THEY DO FLY GREAT, I ALSO HAVE THE 6FT OTTER ON FLOATS. IT IS VERY SOLID IN THE AIR, JUST TAKES ITS TIME TO LIFT OF THE
WATER. ITS A LITTLE UNDER POWERED.
WHEN YOU DECIDE ON A PLANE, YOU SHOULD START A BUILD. I WOULD BE GLAD TO HELP.
LATER GUYS EWAN
