I got a used Venture 60, which has an engine mount for a Saito .72 four stroke (engine not equipped now). I'm thinking to get an inexpensive .60 size two stroke like OS bushing engine, Super Tiger or Evolution. OS ball baring engine is terrific, but costly. I most likely need a new engine mount, too. I'm a beginner modeler/flyer, looking for tips/advise in selection and installtion of an engine. Appreciate any input.

I used a ringed Super Tigre 61 on mine. I used a Dave Brown Motor Mount. Flies very well.

I would try to get an exact replacement motor mount if you can. Installing blindnuts for a new bolt pattern for a different motor mount is a big headache. It can be done though. I would go for a bb supertigre engine over a bushed OS anyday but that my opinion.

I flew mine with an ST 61 for some time with excellent results. I tried an ST 75 on it. Really woke it up, but I liked the 61 more so I switched back. An excellent flier and probably the best kit I'll ever build. All kits should be this good!

I got a Magnum 61xls for mine. A nice engine for around $99. Chrome cylinder and all. A good value.

Thanks for your tips. I got a Magnum 61xls from a local shop. The existing mount is hopeless to use, so I removed it. I have a Great Planes plastic mount (midium size) and am on the way to install it. Hope it's going to work out okay.
