Default ultra hots

I RECENTLY PURCHASED AN ULTRA HOTS ??? THE BUILDER HAS PASSED AWAY AND PLANS HAVE BEEN DESTROYED. THE PLANE MEASURES 81" WS, 64" LONG, CORD IS 18.5", IT HAS A SAITO 125 INSTALLED. IT IS NEW AND NEVER FLOWN. I HAVE BEEN ON THE INTERNET LOOKING FOR SPECIFICATIONS ON THIS AIRPLANE AND HAVE BEEN UNLUCKY ON FINDING ANY INFORMATION ON CG LOCATION, ENGINE SIZE, WEIGHT, AND FLYING CHARACTERISTIC'S ON THE AIRPLANE IF IT REALLY IS AN ULTRA HOTS.
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
THANK YOU

I believe Model Airplane News has made the plans available in the past ? It's been a while so don't hold me to it. That is a nice plane, I always wanted one

Hopefully you can use this link to help determine what you have. A link to the plans are also on the page as well as photos.

Man still sells the plans. Is the CG the only thing you need? Engine choice is a personal thing. I have flown the plane with a Brison 2.4 40cc gasser and loved it. I still have my Mid West Hots in 60 size, I run a YS 1.10 in it, over kill yes, but I like it!! The Saito 1.25 will get yours off the ground but I know I wouldn't be happy with it. If you look at the MAN plans it gives you some good engine size choices.

I've got a set of plans for this plane. According to the plans: the wing chord is 16 5/8" (including the aileron) and the wing span is 81". The plans show the wing chord without the aileron as being 15". The recommended flying weight is 11 to 14 lbs. and the recommended engines include the Saito 270/300, Quadra 35 to 40 cc, OS 240 twin. The balance range is from 4 7/8'' to 5 1/4" back from the leading edge. You mentioned that the plane you have has a wing chord of 18.5. Perhaps the builder added some width to the aileron???

Hope this helps.

I flew the Super Hots years ago with an OS .60 and it was a wonderful flyer. I picked up these plans with a nostalgic twinkle in my eyes! Haven't built it yet but if I did I would throw a DA50 on it with a 3 blade prop. It might come in a bit heavier than recommended but with that big wing it would still fly great! Built light I think it would fly great on the DLE30 as well.
