This is the 1/7th Gold Edition kit. Not wanting to build the many piece, 1/2 balsa and 1/2 fiberglass cowl supplied with the kit, I called Fiberglass Specialties to order a full fiberglass cowl. I was told that their full cowl "goes all the way back to the leading edge of the wing." So its quite long, to say the least.

Has anyone used this cowl and what is their opinion of the look and functionality?

so far every thing I have purchased from them has been good, can't speak directly to the P-51 cowl but rest assured there quality is top notch

Great workmanship , good looks as long as you can keep every thing under the cowl. Something to keep in mind what you are going to put under it , and access[:@] other wise it is going to look like a block of swiss cheese[&o]
