Just finishing a Senior Telemaster which will be used for some training and just having fun. It takes about 5 rolls of covering and have been using Ultracoat in the past.

The cost for that much much Ultacoat is a little expensive.

Any suggestions for a good covering that is a bit less, but looks good?

Any body have any experience with Tower covering?

I once tried the Tower covering, I didn't care for it and switched back to MoneyKote. I really hate paying the price for MoneyKote, but it is high quality covering. I have never used Ultracote, but I know a lot of people like it.

Ultracote's about my favorite, too, but I've gotten some nice looking results from Tower's inexpensive covering.

Since it's a low temp covering, I've always tried to be sure that it's straight and snug before any shrinking... as long as the shrinking step is only used to get things as smooth as they can be (rather than for removing excess slack), the result is very good.

Monokote is usually $4 to $5 bucks cheaper then Ultracote. My LHS has same price as Tower's everyday price on monokote. At $10.99 a roll for opaque monocote(Tower) that's pretty tough to beat for what you get in a film covering. I think Ultracote is up to about $14.99 a roll.
Monokote also seems to hold a shine forever compared to Ultracote, I've used both, and each has it's own good qualities, but monokote gets my vote for reasonable price.
When you have to buy several rolls that extra $4 to $5 a roll adds up fast. I'm getting 8 rolls for a project next week, and those 8 rolls at the cheaper price saves me about $32+tax. Now what will I get with that $32? Scale cockpit??hmm...I like that idea.
