Flair Kits

My Feedback: (8)
I have built 2 of them, both times the Flair Ka8 sailplane, and liked them so much, that I became a distribuitor for them !
I find the kits very complete, and easy to build, although there is lots of buyilding to do !
The quality of the wood is good but not great .
On one of the kits, 2 of the panels with wing ribs, were badly warped so the the ribs were anything but straight. But after getting in touch with Flair, they replaced the 2 panels, without any hassle. This was before I became a distribuitor for them.
The kits are very complete, with good instructions and plans.
All you will need additionally are glue, covering, R/C gear, and in the case of the power models, your engine of course, but they even already come with the tank.
Check on my website, under "gallery", then Ka8, Tiger Moth, or PT-17, there are some pictures of the kit contents.

I am building the Harvard from Flair,
nice kit yeah, needs some building very complete,
the hardware are not the best but are ok,
some of the wing ribs are badly wrapped, in
the instructions they tell you of a way to overcome
this wrapping......
Overall kit is 7/10.
Regards
Hisham.

Like Hisham, I built a Flair Harvard some years ago.
Lots of Lite Ply bits, many were slightly warped but easily bent to correct shape during construction. No rolled plans, they give you numbered instruction sheets.
I used a lot of Medium CA and Accelerator in the construction. Not much use for thin CA except on the balsa rear fuselage.
The completed kit is S.T.R.O.N.G. and a great flyer. Now 4 years old and no problems at all with landing gear blocks etc.
Patience and care and you will have a great flying model.
