RE: Flying Car ??
You have not answered BUflyer's question and there are two possible answers: 1- a scale model of a roadable aircraft and 2- a novelty car like the flying lawnmower. If 2 is what you are after see RCM plan no. 1029, "Flying Porsche". Wingspan is 24", for .60-.90 engine and construction is of wood and foam. Originally published in the October 1988 issue. You can see a photo at www.rcmmagazine.com/

RE: Flying Car ??
Built and flew RCM plans Flying Porsche for several years. Won,t fly upside-down. Don't ask how I know. Built a new one and am trying to get C.G. location. On plans it shows 7.5 inches back from leading edge. This is incorrect as I had to remove over a pound of nose weight to get mine to fly right. If there is anyone out there who is flying one and knows the correct C.G. location I would appreciate the help. Rick [member of Tucson Radio Control Cub Barnstormers AMA Show Team]

RE: Flying Car ??
I think he may be asking for planes for a scale flying car. Such as:

Or

RE: Flying Car ??
Thanks for answering. I am trying to find the correct CG for a flying porsche model from a scratch build from RCM plans. The location on the plans is incorrect.

RE: Flying Car ??
Try 30% of the Chord of the airfoil,
This should give you a good starting point, you can start there and move it back after test flying to make it more responsive.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking of a more conservative 25% to start unless anyone out there was flying one at something different. Also does that percentage include the elevons? I believe it does. Thanks Again.
