Default cowl and windscreen

I recently bought a 1/4 scale cub kit built, I need a windshield and cowl for it, not knowing the make of the kit I know its going to be hard to find but if I get a close fit, I can make it work, I think the cowl for the hangar nine cub will work but the windshield is backordered indifinately, any idea's I am converting it to L4 so I will need more clear for the sunscreen. I found this poor thing sitting in the back of a hangar and it was in definate need of tlc ....thanks

Use poster board from an art store and you can make dummy wind screens until you get one that fits......then cut it out of the plastic.......that's the way I do it....You can really get it close with cheap poster board....just my opinion.

You can order a glass cowl from Fiberglass Specialties, I think there cowl will fit the GP, CG and SIG Cub without a problem, it needs to be cut to size. I made up new windows for a CG Cub by cutting out a tracing of the windows then cutting forms from 1/8 light ply, used K&S plastic and my heat gun to make new ones. I heated up the plastic, set it over the wood frame and pressed the cut out over the hot plastic to form them. Worked for me.

The GP and Goldberg Cubs are not 1/4 scale. Their cowls will be too small for a 1/4 scale Cub.

I don't believe that the Hangar 9 Cub is actually 1/4 scale, either. I think that it is a bit smaller.

If memory serves me, the BUSA and Sig Cubs have different fuselage widths, which would keep the cowls from being interchangeable.

If you could post a few pics, some showing the cabin interior, maybe someone could identify which Cub you have. It would make it easier to order a cowl.
