What is the difference between the older TFred box kit, and the yellow box kit of the same plane?

One comes in a red box and the other comes in a yellow box .

I can't say with complete certainty, but I have researched this myself before, and could not find any generalized difference. They are quite different than the newer "Gold Edition" kits. For example, many of the Red/Yellow box kits have solid balsa tail feathers as opposed to built up pieces common in the Gold Edition kits.

As noted by aymodeler, there is no difference other than the color of the box on those old TF kits.

Thanks.
That is what I thought, but just wanted to check with others to be sure.

I'mlooking for a red/yellow box P39, if anyone has one to trade/sale.

Ebay is your friend. The red/yellow box P-39s show up quite often there.

Watch the classified on here and other RC sites too. I have been collecting older kits and have scored quite a few from these sites (including a Gold Edition P-39).  You will pay less than on e-Bay, but you need to move fast. There a few guys who buy older kits on the classified sites, then turn around and sell for more on eBay. They will grab any good deal on old TF, Royal, Nosen, or other discontinued kit that pops up, so you have to be prepared to jump when something you want appears.

Good luck!
Al

I had always thought that the older of the 2 had decals while the newer one had the stickers. Other than that, I think they are the same. Good Luck, Dave

Take in consideration your flying skills. The Gold Edition redesigned aircraft are a lot more stable flying. I would download the manuals and evaluate which kit you want.
